RESOLUTION 85-14
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE NEED FOR NEW AND IMPROVED CITY FACILITIES. CALLING
FOR A REFERENDUM, SETTING JUNE 25, 1985 AS THE ELECTION DATE AND DETERMINING THE
QUESTION TO BE VOTED ON.
WHEREAS, the Elk River City Council has studied the need for additional and
improved City Facilities, and
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby determines that the existing City facilities
are inadequate and that a need exists to:
a. Build a new Public Works Garage
b. Remodel and improve the existing City Hall, and
WHEREAS, a favorable Public Referendum is necessary in order to issue General
Obligation bonds to fund such needed facilities,
NOW THERE BE IT RESOLVED that there is a need for a Public Works Garage and a
remodeled and improved City Hall, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a Public Referendum be held at a special election to
be conducted on Tuesday, June 25, 1985, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the question to be asked be in essenctially the following
form:
Shall the City of Elk River issue its General Obligation bonds in an
amount not to exceed Nine Hundred, Fifty Thousand dollars ($950,000)
for the purpose of providing money for improving Municipal facilities
by constructing a new Public Works garage and remodeling the existing
City Hall.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that City personnel prepare Ithe necessary notices, required
election materials, and conduct said eleqtion.
