Resolution 21- 9
A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Elk River Accepting Bids for
the Public Safety Building Expansion Improvements
WHEREAS, the City Council, and City staff have worked with BKV Group and Terra
General Contractors, LLC (dba Terra Construction), on the design plans for Fire Station 3;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council approved the plans and specifications for the Fire Station 3
and authorized the taking of bids for the project at its December 7t1i, 2020, meeting; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the advertisement for bids for the construction of the Fire
Station 3 Project, bids were received for 29 project categories, opened, and tabulated
according to law; and
WHEREAS, Terra Construction, is recommending the award of the contract to
appropriate responsible bidders of each of the categories listed below:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk
River, Minnesota, as follows:
1. The prime contracts to the recommended low bidders are hereby awarded except
for Categories BC#5A - Steel Supply.
Terra Construction and the city will publicly re -bid this category to receive
competitive quotes for this bid category. The bid category is as follows:

2. Alternate 1 - Water Main for Future Wellhouse and Add Alternate #2 - High -Speed
Coiling Doors.
3. The assignment of the prime contracts to Terra Construction, Inc., is hereby
authorized.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member
Westgaard and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof:
and the following voted against the same:
WHEREUPON, said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted this Is' day
of February 2021.
