RESOLUTION 85-28
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING QUOTATIONS AND AUTHORIZING PURCHASE
OF LIGHTS FOR COUNTY STATE AID HIGHWAY #42 BRIDGE
WHEREAS,
Minnesota Law provides that purchases for goods of $15,000 or less may
be purchased by receiving informal quotations; and,
WHEREAS,
the City of Elk River has received the following quotations for the
purchase of lighting for the County State Aid Highway #42 Bridge:

BIDDER STEEL POLE
Millerbemd $420 each
Wesco $523 each
Graybar does not bid poles
250 WATT, 120 VOLT
HIGH PRESSURE -
SODIUM LAMP
does not bid lights
$106.00 each
$139.00 each
WHEREAS, the quotation received from Mi11erbemd Company of Rogers, MN appears
to be the lowest quotation for the light poles; and,
WHEREAS, the quotation received from Wesco appears to be the lowest quotation
received for the lights; and,
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Elk River has determined that it is in
the best interest of the City of Elk River to accept the quotation for
the poles from Mi11erbernd Company in the amount of $1,680, and for the
lights from Wesco in the amount of $424.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River that
the quotation of Mi11erbemd Company in the amount of $1,680 and the
quotation from Wesco in the amount of $424 are hereby accepted, and the
Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized to execute a contract
for the purchase of said lighting.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the expenditure of $100 is hereby authorized for
miscellaneous costs related to installation of the lighting which will
be installed by the Public Utilities Commission.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the funds for the project will be obtained from the
City's MSA maintenance Fund.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River this 22nd day of July, 1985.
