Adopt, by motion, a resolution acknowledging the monetary contribution of $500 from Bill and Laura Hjort.
Background/Discussion
We continue to receive donations in the Woodland Trails Regional Park donation box. Recently, some of the
donations have been more generous than past years probably due to the increased usage in the park. We received a
$500 donation check from Bill and Laura Hjort.
In 2020 we received $1,642 in total donations which was more than double the previous year and now 2021 YTD
it is $1,220, which includes the $500 check.

Councilmember _______________ introduced the following resolution and moved its
adoption:

Resolution 21-10
A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Elk River Acknowledging
Contributions
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River received a $500 donation from Bill and Laura Hjort
with the intent $500 be used by the Parks and Recreation Department for Woodland Trails
Regional Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council, by at least four-fifths
vote, to acknowledge the support and commend Bill and Laura for their donation.
The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember
______________, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
