Transportation is one of the most important issues that our community will face in
the near future. This membership meeting will provide an update of the activities
that are being planned regarding the many aspects of our local streets, highways
and NorthStar Commuter rail system.
The featured speaker will be U.S. Representative Mark Kennedy, who will speak
about the Federal government's important role of assisting Elk River in meeting the
future demands on our transportation system. Also invited are U.S. Senators Norm
Coleman and Mark Dayton. Additional information will be provided by the
Tinklenberg Group on the City's funding request for the Highway 10 design through
downtown Elk River, an update from the NorthStar Corridor association, and a
general discussion of transportation in the community.
