Alcohol Compliance Information
Attached is information regarding the alcohol compliance check of all licensed liquor
establishment in the City of Elk River. Letters have been sent to the offending
establishments explaining that (1) they may request a hearing before the City Council or (2)
they need to submit the administrative penalty of $500 by August 1.
Northbound Liquors is not licensed by the City but by the State of Minnesota. However, it
was felt it only fair that the city municipal liquor store should also have a penalty of $500.
This amount has been transferred to the Police Department's account. It has been put into
reserves for expenses related to the Police Department's future liquor compliance education
program.
If I receive any requests for a hearing, I will place this as an item on an upcoming agenda for
the Council to set the date of the hearing.
