RESOLUTION REJECTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF
TWO POLICE PATROL SEDANS
WHEREAS, Minnesota law provides that purchases for 900ds of
$15,000 Dr more must be purchased bv receivin9 fo~mal
bids, and;
WHEREAS, the Citv of Elk River has received bids for the
purchase of two police patrol sedans, and;
WHEREAS, the bids received bv the City of Elk River on November
13, 1985, were as follows:

WHEREAS, on November 14, 1985, Hennepin County awarded the bid
for Police Vehicles to Vikin9/Southdale Ford for Ford's
Crown Victoria at $11,057.00 per unit, and;

the cost of comparable vehicles with comparable options
at Vikin9/Southdale Ford and Country Chrysler are as
follows:

WHEREAS, it appears that the bid received by Hennepin County was
si9nificantly lower than those received by the Citv of
Elk River".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Citv Council of the Citv of
Elk River, Minnesota as follows:
1. All bids received bv the City of Elk River on
November 13, 1985, for the purchase of Police
Patrol Sedans are hereby rejected.
2. The bid of Vikin9/Southdale Ford in the amount of
$11,111 per unit or $22,222 total bid is herebv
accepted and the Mayor an Citv Administrator are
hereby authorized to execute a contract for the
purchase of said vehicles from Vikin9/Southdale
