DISCUSSION:
Delivered twelvenew water meters.
Sealed the water meter, installed an encoder receiver transmitter, and took curb stop
ties from eightwater services.
Completed 15 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples
o All confirmednegative for Coliform Bacteria
o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the MDH
Completed 19 routine fluoride samples
o All samples met MDH standards
o Submitted MDH Fluoride Report
o Completed one MDH validation fluoride sample
Submitted Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR) for the Diesel Generation Plant to the
Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
Submitted Tier II Annual Reports to Homeland Security for the Diesel Generation Plant
and all the Water Treatment Plants.
Installation of Verizon Wireless cell phone communication equipment continues at
Freeport Water Tower.A larger handrailsystem has beeninstalled on topof the tower
to be able to handle the load of all the antenna equipment being installed.
T-Mobile/Sprint has submitted plans to upgrade antenna equipment on Gary Street
Water Tower. They have notified us that they will also be upgrading equipment on
Auburn Street and Johnson Street Water Towers soon.
On February 23, a report came in of water bubbling up through the sidewalk at the
southwest corner of Highway 10 and Jackson Avenue. Water operators quicklyfigured
out that the water service for 707 Highway 10was leaking. The water service has been
shut off to stop the leak from undermining the sidewalk along Highway 10. The building
has temporary water service connected to the neighboring building until the main water
service line can be excavated and repaired.
Water Department Staff installed a temporary camera on top of Gary Street Water
Tower to record progress of the City’s Lake Orono Restoration and Enhancement
Project.

We continue to coordinate with Stateand County staff for upcoming Highway 169 and
County Road 13 improvements.
The water operators have spent much of their time performing annual preventive
maintenance on the water treatment plants.
