RESOLUTION 86-56
CITY OF ELK RIVER
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING RESIGNATION FROM COUNCILMEMBER. WARREN WILLIAMS.
WARD 2. AND DECLARING THE EXISTANCE OFA VACANCY FOR THIS POSITION
WHEREAS. the City Council has received a formal resignation from Ward 2
Councilmember. Warren Williams. effective August 19. 1986; and.
WHEREAS. state statue 412.02 Subdivision 2a. states that if the vacancy occurs
after the first day to file affidavits for candidacy for the regular
City Council election then there shall be no special election to fill
the vacancy and the Council will make an appointment to this position
to fill out the remainder of the term.
NOW. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River.
Minnesota. that:
1. The resignation from Warren Williams. as Councilmember for Ward 2
is hereby accepted.
2. The Council position for Ward 2 is hereby declared vacant.
NOW. THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk
Elk River. Minnesota. that the City Council sincerely appreciates the
devoted service that Warren Williams has provided the City as
representative of Ward 2 since January 1. 1985.
Adopted this 25th day August. 1986.
