RESOLUTION 87- 8
CITY OF ELK RIVER
RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE MINNESOTA LIBRARY ASSOCIATION
1987 LEGISLATIVE PLATFORM
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Library Association (MLA) has adopted a
1987 Legislative Platform calling for the continued
funding of existing library programs and for new
Legislative initiatives relating to public library
services, and;
WHEREAS, the Elk River Library Board has reviewed the MLA 1987
Legislative Platform and found MLA position to be in
the best interest of the Elk River Public Library, and;
WHEREAS, the Elk River Public Library Board has passed a motion
requesting the Elk River City Council to support the
1987 MLA Legislative Platform, and;
WHEREAS, the Elk River City Council has reviewed the MLA 1987
Legislative Platform and has found this position to be
in the best interest of the City of Elk River and the
Elk River Public Library.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Elk River that the City supports and endorses the MLA
1987 Legislative Platform as adopted by the MLA Board
on November 21, 1986.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City Council this
2nd day of February, 1987.
