Background/Discussion This will be the first bench memorial approved under the Council’s recently adopted Donation Policy. The donation will cover the costs of the bench, plaque and installation, which is scheduled for May 2021. Updated: August 2020 Councilmember _______________ introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: City of Elk River City Council Resolution 21-____ A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Elk River Acknowledging Contributions WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and individuals for their contributions to the community; and WHEREAS, the City of Elk River received a donation of $2,500 from Colleen Houle with the intent it be used by the Parks and Recreation Department for a bench memorial at Bailey Point Nature Preserve as outlined in the city’s parks and recreation donation policy. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council, by at least four-fifths vote, to acknowledge the support and commend Paul and his team for their donation.
