Adopt, by motion, a resolution acknowledging the $2,500 donation from Colleen Houle for a bench memorial in
honor of Philip Houle to be installed at Bailey Point Nature Preserve.
Background/Discussion
This will be the first bench memorial approved under the Council’s recently adopted Donation Policy. The
donation will cover the costs of the bench, plaque and installation, which is scheduled for May 2021.

adoption:

Resolution 21-____
A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Elk River Acknowledging
Contributions
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River received a donation of $2,500 from Colleen Houle with
the intent it be used by the Parks and Recreation Department for a bench memorial at Bailey
Point Nature Preserve as outlined in the city’s parks and recreation donation policy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council, by at least four-fifths
vote, to acknowledge the support and commend Paul and his team for their donation.
The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember
______________, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
