DISCUSSION:
Delivered fournew water meters.
Sealed the water meter, installed an encoder receiver transmitter, and took curb stop
ties from sevenwater services.
Completed 15 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples
o All confirmednegative for Coliform Bacteria
o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the MDH
Completed 23 routine fluoride samples
o All samples met MDH standards
o Submitted MDH Fluoride Report
Submitted the Discharge Monitoring Report for the diesel generation plantto the
Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
Completed and submitted the 2020Water Conservation Report totheDNR.
Staff have been working with Short Elliot Hendrickson Inc. to conduct a risk and
resilience assessment of the water system that is required by the EPA.
The new handrail system on top of FreeportWater Tower has been installed andall
damage to the tower’s paint coatings resulting from the work has been repaired. The
tower has been refilled with water, bacteria samples have passed, and the tower is back
in service. Installation of Verizon Wireless communications equipment continues there.
A new programmable logic controllerand touch screen controlinterface have been
installed at Water Treatment Plant #4. The backwashing issues experienced there have
been resolved and the water operators have added 77 cubic feet of filter media to the
filter to replace what was lost.
Water department staff continue to work with State and County staff on the County
State Aide Highway12reconstruction, Highway10reconstruction, and Highway 169
Redefineprojects.
