RESOLUTION 87-56
RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING A VARIANCE
TO THE MUNICIPAL STATE AID REQUIREMENTS
WHEREAS,
the City of Elk River is considering a Municipal State
Aid improvement project on Jackson Avenue (MSAS*104)
between Main Street and T.H. 10; and,
WHEREAS,
part of the consideration in the design of the
improvement will be sidewalk width in the downtown
area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Elk River, Minnesota:
1. The City of Elk River, hereby, requests a variance
to Minnesota Department of Transportation State Aid
Operations requirement 8820.9916 Minimum Design
Standards for 45 Degree and 60 Degree Diagonal
Parking.
2. Specifically, the City of Elk River requests a
variance to reduce the traffic aisle width from
25.2 feet to 22.2 feet on Jackson Avenue, a street
with a present ADT of over 3,000, on which 45
degree diagonal parking is allowed.
Passed and adopted by the Elk River City Council this 28th day of
September, 1987.
