CITY OF ELK RIVER
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ELK RIVER AMENDING
SECTIONS 74-97 AND 74-99
OF THE CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES

The City Council of the City of Elk River does hereby ordain as follows:
Section 1. Section 74-97 titled Nighttime parking in Business District of the
City of Elk River Code of Ordinances shall be amended read as follows:
Sec. 74-97. Nighttime parking.
(a) No vehicle shall be parked between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on Lowell and Jackson
Avenues between Highway 10 and Main Street, on Main Street between Lowell Avenue and
Highway 10, on J ackson Avenue between Highway 10 and 5th Street, and on Railroad Drive.
In addition, no vehicle shall be parked between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. in the municipal
parking lots along the Burlington Northern Railroad.
(b) No vehicle shall be parked between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. in the King Avenue
parking lot unless it is displaying a resident parking permit as issued by the Police Chief or
his designee.
(c) Violations of this section are punishable as provided in section 74-91.
Section 2. Section 74-99 titled Reserved Parking in Municipal Parking Lots of
the City of Elk River Code of Ordinances shall be amended read as follows:
Sec. 74-99. Parking in municipal parking lots.
(a) The municipal parking lots along the Burlington Northern Railroad are designated
for either commuter or public parking.
(b) The posted employee parking area within the King Avenue parking lot requires
employee vehicles to display parking permits as issued by the Police Chief or his designee.
(c) Violations of this section are punishable as provided in section 74-91.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect upon publication as provided by
law.
