DISCUSSION:
• Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association held virtual meetings with municipals around
the state for an opportunity to discuss current issues, challenges, and ways they can
support us better. Other municipals participating in the virtual meeting were from
Anoka, Buffalo, Chaska, Circle Pines, Delano, North Saint Paul, and Shakopee.
• The Board of Directors of the Minnesota Municipal Power Agency met virtually on April
27, 2021. Both Commissioner Mary Stewart and I were in attendance, although I was
having some technical difficulties, so Mary voted on applicable items. Updates from the
meeting were provided in the mid-month memo.
• I met with Greg Ridderbusch, CEO of Connexus Energy for our quarterly visit on May 3.
We discussed 2021 COVID challenges as employees are becoming vaccinated and
returning to work, and I was able to showcase our Clean Energy Choice Certificates sent
to customers. These meetings provide great value in maintaining a positive working
relationship with Connexus Energy.
• Kent Meyers was here May 5 to present to employees the third session on Everyday
Leadership. This session’s topic was two-part: Proactive Accountability & Respect, and
100% Responsibility with 0 Excuses.
