6.1h ERMUSR 05-11-2021______________________________________________________________________________ Page 1 of 2 UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING TO: ERMU Commission FROM: Chris Sumstad – Electric Superintendent MEETING DATE: May 11, 2021 AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: 6.1h SUBJECT: Staff Update ACTION REQUESTED: None DISCUSSION: • Installed 12 new residential services, which involves the connection of a secondary line once the customer requests service. • Finished the County Road 35 overhead rebuild job. • Tree trimmed along County Road 13 to make room for overhead line that will need to be rebuilt due to the road construction project scheduled to begin in July. The line will be rebuilt prior to the construction start date. • Started taking down the Highway 10 median lights which need to be removed for the Highway 10 reconstruction project. The lights will be reinstalled this fall when the project is complete. • Working on the plant feeder project. Bore crew and line crews have been working on installation of the new feeder line to Highway 10, as well as new underground wire to feed surrounding homes near the plant. • Installed 600 feet of 4/0 underground primary wire for a new customer along 163 rd Avenue near Jarvis Street. • Removed the existing transformer and abandoned wire running along the south side of the Elk River football stadium. A new transformer and wire will be installed as soon as the new stadium construction allows. • The City’s Fleet Maintenance Division completed the DOT annual inspections on our trucks and trailers. 290 ______________________________________________________________________________ Page 2 of 2 • A streetlight was struck by a vehicle on Holt Street near the Aldi entrance. The pole and light have been replaced. • Tyler Meyers and Blaine Snyder attended the Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association Substation School April 6-8, in Anoka, MN. 291
