Renner & Sons Cal Portner, City Administrator Reviewed by Action Requested Adopt, by motion, a resolution acknowledging the labor and equipment donation with a value of $8,200 from E.H. Renner & Sons. Background/Discussion As part of the Youth Athletic Complex (YAC) restroom and concession building project, staff was tasked to find whether the well near the concession building could be improved to a potable water well. After conversations with E.H. Renner & Sons and the Minnesota Department of Health, an inspection found the bottom 40 feet had become filled with sediment and needed re -excavation. Roger Renner volunteered the services of his company re - excavate the well back to its original depth. Mr. Renner performed the necessary work and wishes to donate a portion of his labor and equipment usage to the city to correct the original deficiencies of the well. The inspection also found that the well pump motor, originally installed in 1998, needed replacement. The city assumed the additional costs of the motor and well conversion, however we are sincerely thankful for the generous donation by Mr. Renner to the Elk River community. Financial Impact The YAC improvements are included in the Active Elk River Project. H. Renner & Sons for it be used by Parks and Recreation Department for correcting the well deficiencies at Youth Athletic Complex. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council, by at least four -fifths vote, to acknowledge the support and commend Charles Larson for his donation.
