Background/Discussion In Early 2021 the City Council solicited proposals for the sale of Pinewood Golf Course. The city received two proposals and Council chose a proposal submitted by Jennifer Abrahamson,Trevor Birdsall, and Adrienne Thompson. The approved proposal and the proposed sale documents provide that Pinewood will continue to be operated as a golf course after the sale. The Comprehensive Plan guides the property for Open Space,which includes public and private recreation and open space uses. The sale is scheduled to be finalized later this year, and staff asks the Planning Commission to consider a resolution finding that the continued use of the property, currently used as Pinewood Golf Course,is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan. Updated.August 2020 City of Elk ^--� City of Elk River River Planning Commission Resolution 21-02 A Resolution of the Planning Commission of the City of Elk River Finding that the Sale of Property is Consistent with the Elk River Comprehensive Plan WHEREAS, The City of Elk River ("City") is negotiating with Jennifer Abrahamson, Trevor Birdsall, and Adrienne Thompson (`Buyer") for the sale of Pinewood Golf Course— Outlots A &B, Pinewood ("Property"); and WHEREAS, the Property is currently operated as a golf course,which is considered a legal-conforming use and the terms of the sale will require that it continues to be operated as a golf course; and WHEREAS, the City of Elk River Comprehensive Plan guides the Property for Open Space; and WHEREAS, Minn. Stat. 462.356, subd. 2 requires the Planning Commission to review the City's proposed disposition of property for consistency with the Comprehensive Municipal Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Elk River, Minnesota, as follows: The proposed sale of the Property legally described as Outlots A &B, Pinewood is consistent with the Comprehensive Municipal Plan.
