Action Requested
Approve, by motion, the promotion of Adult Detective Sergeant to Administrative Captain effective May 18,
2021.
Background/Discussion
On May 17, 2021, the Council recognized the promotion of Adult Detective Sergeant Joe Gacke to
Administrative Captain. Captain Gacke is filling the position vacated by Captain Bob Kluntz due to retirement
which was effective May 28, 2021.
Captains Gacke and Kluntz utilized the period of time from May 18 until Captain Kluntz's departure to prepare
for the transition.
Captain Gacke will begin at Paygrade 4E, Step D. This is not a union position. All other benefits are consistent
with city policy.
Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position.
