DISCUSSION:
Installed 9 new residential services, which involves the connection of a secondary line
once the customer requests service.
Energized the new power plant transformer then switched the plant over and
deenergized the two old transformers. These were removed from the grounds on May
27. The overhead lines have also been removed. This leaves only a portion of the old
substation to be removed. This was a large project that began last fall and included
rerouting four feeder lines to make way for the new building.
Finished the underground portion of Feeder 73 running from Highway 10 to the plant.
This project is now complete except for removing the overhead line that runs from the
plant to the north side of Highway 10.
Moved a section of overhead line that runs through the new Elk Ridge Estates
development located north of the Sherburne County Government Center. This is a new
30 lot development that will open late summer or early fall. This is one of 6-8 new
housing developments under construction this year in Elk River.
Bore rig crew installed 1700 feet of three phase 1000 thousand circular mil (mcm)
underground feeder wire runningto the old refuse-derived fuelplant. Line crews are
currently setting switchgear cabinets and terminating this new wire.
Moved a three phase feeder pole along Main Streetnear Line Avenue. The old pole sat
where the City will be installinga manhole. Staffended up setting two poles to gain
needed clearance in that area.
Crews are working on Tyler Street setting a pole and running underground wire into the
new Tranquil Meadows development.

Bore rig crew started its work on the Highway 169 Redefine project. The first step is
thst
installing new 500 mcm underground wire from 197Avenueto 201 Avenue to replace
overhead lines that will be removed along the west side of the highway in that area.
Poles are set and new wire is installed in the first section for the County Road 13
project. Staff will beswitching customers over to new wire and rebuilding overhead
lines at the two roundabout locations, Tyler Street and Line Avenue.
