CITY OF ELK RIVER
AN ORDI~NCE CREATING A CITY HEALTH CARE DELIVERY COMMISSION
The C ty Council of the City of Elk River does ordain as
follows:
Secticn 1. The City of Elk River Code of Ordinances
Section 21 titled "Board of Health" is repealed in its
entirety al d amended as follows:

SECTION 21' .00 - ESTABLISHMENT OF HEALTH CARE DELIVERY
COMMISSION
There is h4reby established in the City of Elk River a Health
Care Deliv4ry Commission pursuant to the provisions of this
Ordinance.
SECTION 21 .02 - MEMBERS AND TERM.
The Health Care Delivery Commission shall consist of seven (7)
members whc shall be appointed by the Council at the first
meeting of the year for terms of three (3) years except that of
the memberl first appointed, two shall serve for a term of
three (3) ears, two for a term of two (2) years, and three for
a term of cne (1) year. The Commission will consist of the
following:
1. A res dent of Elk River.
2. Medicil Director for Elk River Ambulance.
3. A memler of Health One Transportation.
4. Coord nator for Elk River Ambulance.
5. Elk Rver ambulance staff member.
6. Reprelentative of Elk River Police Department.
7. Membe of the Elk River medical community.
A vacancy curing the term of any member shall be filled by City
Council aplointment for the remainder of the term.

~ SECTION 21 .04 - POWERS AND DUTIES.
The Health Care Delivery Commission shall have and exercise all
the powers and duties conferred upon local boards of health by
Minnesota tatutes and other applicable laws and regulations of
the State f Minnesota as well as those powers and duties
imposed up n them by local ordinance. The Commission shall
provide ap ropriate communication to the emergency health
service st ff and submit appropriate recommendations to the
City Counc'l on an annual basis. The Commission shall meet at
least two imes each calendar year.
