Background/Discussion
Staff sent a survey to Elk River businesses to better understand their needs during the Highway 10 and
Jackson Street construction projects. A couple responses would like more clarity around ease of access,
where to park, and tools to navigate drivers through the construction areas.
At the June 16, 2021,Brand Ambassador meeting,the group discussed having two Spirit Weeks; one in
the summer and one in the winter and a job fair as a lot of employers are struggling with finding workers.
The group created two sub-committees who will help coordinate the August 23-27, 2021, Spirit Week and
an upcoming"Grow Your Community" job fair. The groups will work within the Together Elk River
Sub-committee.
Financial Impact
The EDA has allocated $10,000 in the 2021 budget to this initiative.

To Elk Diver is a community initiative to encourage, engage, and support local businesses,non-profits, and
neighbors in need through challenging times.
