Summary of General Manager Performance Evaluation
ACTION REQUESTED:
Chair Dietz to provide a summary of the General Manager’s performance evaluation
BACKGROUND:
On June 8, 2021, the Commission conducted a closed meeting to evaluate the performance of
General Manager Theresa Slominski. The law requires that at its next open meeting, the
Commission shall summarize its conclusions regarding the evaluation. Chair Dietz provided the
following statement summarizing the Commission’s conclusions regarding the evaluation.
DISCUSSION:
The Commission conducted a performance evaluation of General Manager Theresa Slominski. A
form scoring Ms. Slominski in several different categories was reviewed in detail. The form had
been filled out by all five commissioners and the management staff of ERMU, along with City
Administrator Cal Portner.
The Commission gave Ms. Slominski high marks for stepping in after former General Manager
Troy Adams left in May 2020. After interviews with outside candidates failed to produce a new
general manager, Ms. Slominski took the job and provided a smooth transition.
The Commission suggested a few areas for Ms. Slominski to work on in the coming year. Overall,
the scores given to her by staff and the Commission were above average.
The Commission was very appreciative of Ms. Slominski’s willingness to take on the general
manager role at a critical time for the organization. Staff and the Commission feel that ERMU
has not missed a beat with Ms. Slominski in the general manager role.
