ORDINANCE 88 - 7
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 900.24 - PARKING & LOADING
REGULATIONS, SUBSECTION 11 - LANDSCAPING AND SCREENING
The City Council of the City of Elk River does ordain as follows:
Section 1. That Section 900.24 (11) of the City of Elk
River Code of Ordinance titled, "Landscaping and Screening" be
amended to read as follows:
d. Landscaping and Screeninq - All loading berths shall
be screened from view from the property across the
street frontage and/or from the zoning district boundary
when the adjacent property or property across the street
frontage or side street frontage is zoned or used for
residential purposes. Said screening shall be
accomplished by a solid wall not less than eight (8)
feet in height and shall be so designed as to be
architecturally harmonious with the principal structure.
Screen plantings may be substituted for the prescribed
wall; however, such plantings must be of such type as to
permit a minimum of eighty (80%) opacity during all
months of the year.
Trash receptacle in mUlti-family, commercial and
industrial zoned districts must be screened on all
sides. Such screening shall be a minimum of 4 feet high
but must be higher than the trash receptacle. Screening
must be a design that is compatible with the structure
it serves.
Section 2. That the Ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force from and after the date of its publication.
