2022 General Manager Search
ACTION REQUESTED:
Appoint two search committee members.
DISCUSSION:
With the upcoming retirement of the general manager, the search process ideally will begin in
early 2022 and proposals are being collected from search firms for budget considerations.
When the previous General Manager resigned in 2020, a search committee was created and
comprised of two commissioners, John Dietz and Mary Stewart. The Commission should
consider which board members would serve on the 2022 search committee.
The search committee will screen proposals and recommend a consultant to help coordinate
the general manager search and placement process, then work with the selected consultant to
screen candidates and prepare a final list of candidates to be interviewed by the full
commission. There can only be two commissioners on the committee due to Open Meeting
Law. There would be efficiencies gained by having the two commissioners who most recently
served in this capacity do so again, and that is my recommendation.
The Commission should appoint two search committee members for the 2022 General
Manager search.
