DISCUSSION:
Minnesota Municipal Power Agency’s Board of Directors meeting was held in Chaska,
MN and via videoconference August 24, 2021. Commissioner Mary Stewart and I were in
attendance.
Our health insurance, vision insurance,and ancillary insurancesrenewals should all be
available by the third week in October. We had a pre-renewal meeting with our broker
on September 7 to discuss insurance trends and make plans for open enrollment
meetings this fall. The insurance trends provided by the broker did not provide any
insight into our expected renewal rates.
We have received two proposals for the general manager search from Baker Tilly and
GovHR. A third proposal is still being sought.
Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association (MMUA) CEO Jack Kegel’s retirement
celebration will be held at the MMUA Offices on Friday, October 1 from 2:00 to 4:00
p.m. I plan on attending to extend our thanks for his service over the years and to wish
him well in his retirement.
