This being the time and place set for the hearing on the road petition signed by Daniel Frye and others for a new road, beginning at a point on the Point Douglas and Fort Ripley Military Road, so called, and at a point on said road 2 rods north from the point where said road crosses the south line of section 2, Township 32, Range 26 and running from that point easterly parallel to the south line of said section as described in said petition, and it appearing to the Board by affidavits of Daniel Fry and Andrew Davis that they had served copies of the notice of hearing upon each of the occupants of the land through which the road may pass at least ten days prior to this meeting and it further appearing to the Board by affidavit of Andrew Davis that he had posted copies of the notice of hearing at least ten days prior hereto in three public places in said town. The Board proceeded to view the proposed route for said new road, and heard any and all reasons for against laying out the same. On motion H.H. Sheldon was allowed $50.00 damages in consequence of the laying of said road, and it being the opinion of the Board that such laying out of said new road was necessary and proper and that the public interest would be promoted thereby. We voted to grant the prayer of the said petitioners and determined to lay out said road and caused a survey to be made by J.H. Williams, surveyor. On motion adjourned. Andrew Davis Town Clerk
