Discuss and provide staff direction for the designated use of the $6,500.00 Elk River Ministerial Association
Donation to the City of Elk River.
Background/Discussion
Mayor Dietz was invited to an event hosted by the Elk River Ministerial Association. The association collected
$6,500 from its membership and donated it to the city to use in whatever way they determined.
At the September 7, 2021, regular meeting, Mayor Dietz asked for Council suggestions on how to designate the
donation. Suggestions included the following:
1) Something that would benefit the entire city, such as Elk RiverFest.
2) A long-term fixture such as a bench or a mural at the Furniture and Things Community Events Center.
The Council agreed to discuss further ideas at the ensuing meeting.
