85-011 ORD . . . ORDINANCE 85-11 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1188.16 OF THE CITY ORDINANCES REGARDING SNOW REMOVAL PARKING The City Council of the City of Elk River does ordain as follows: Section 1 That Section 1188.16 of the City of Elk River Code of Ordinances titled "Snow Removal Parking" be amended to read as follows: 1. Public safety requires the rapid and efficient removal of snow or ice from City streets, public highways or other thoroughfares. No person shall stop, stand, or park any vehicle or permit it to stand on any street in the City of Elk River between the hours of 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. on any day between November 15 and April 15. 2. Exceptions. Police cars, hearses, ambulances, and fire department vehicles and vehicles responding to emergency calls are excepted from this prohibition. Vehicles called out for emergency repairs to electric light and power lines, telephone lines, natural gas and sewer and water systems are also exceptions. 3. The police department or authorized representative of the City is hereby authorized to remove such vehicle from the street and to store the same for the owner thereof, such removal and storage charge to be paid by the owner of such vehicle. SECTION 2 That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from the date of January 1 ,1986. Passed and adopted this 9th day of December, 1985.
