Discuss and provide staff direction regarding the city’s residential waste hauler agreement
Background/Discussion
Elk River currently has a residential curbside trash and recycling contract with Republic Services and Randy’s
Environmental Services which will expire at the end of December 2022.
Randy’s was acquired by Republic earlier this year. Recently, Republic provided pricing and contract information
for an extension of another five years. This includes modest price increases for both trash and recycling, and fixed
rate recycling fees. Staff is looking for feedback from council about this proposal and next steps.
