Background/Discussion Economic Development Specialist—Colleen Eddy,who has been in this position since 2014,will be leaving her position as she accepted a business development role with DEED. Her last day will be October 26. Harvest Hills Building—There is a potential buyer going through a due-diligence period and has just started discussions with the city. The company would relocate a food manufacturing business from the metro into the facility. North Star/Tyler site—Our office has been in contact with a broker representing a manufacturer in Minneapolis looking to relocate. We have provided supporting information on the site and the potential buyer is reviewing. This is the site with the gas line easement. The site also has stormwater pipe which would require relocation to accommodate the desired building footprint for this business. Project Singularity—We received an RFI through GreaterMSP looking to site a German-based precision manufacturing company.We co-responded with Sherburne County on its large site near the government center. We have been notified that the site is one of four in Minnesota under consideration for the next round of review and have provided additional responses the questions posed about the site. Sourcel-ink—We anticipate having the software in place by November 1. Real Estate Expo—Staff will be attending the MnCAR Expo on October 27 and will have a booth showcasing properties available in Elk River. Real Estate Services—The RFP was released with responses due on October 29. We pushed it out to capture the interactions we anticipate with brokers at the MnCAR Expo. Fox Haven follow-up—EDA and Planning staff met with the proposers of the auto repair shop for Fox Haven to offer support for the business and assistance in finding a building site in Elk River. Financial Impact N/A Mission/Policy/Goal Support Elk River's existing businesses through relationship building,programmatic offerings, and high- quality city services. Attract new business development to Elk River to build the City's economic vibrancy, job offerings and tax base. Attachments • None
