5.2 LIBSR 10-26-2021Library Zones Report (Yearly walk through) Elk River Public Library Board The Library Board serves in an advisory capacity to City of Elk River for issues related to the Elk River Public Library Smunds, the physical building and interior fixtures. The city is responsible far scheduling and coordinating all hark to be completed Zone Specifics - Zone Issues/Progress Zone 1 i Entrance; butterfly garden; windmill, prairie grass; rain garden ■ Parking lot rain garden has half of the in parking lot, planter boxes for Junior Master Gardeners new plants in. 2"d half of plants will be summer gardening program put in this fall. ■ Butterfly garden was weeded by various board members and volunteers. ■ Planter boxes eventually installed on northeast side of building facing lake. Delayed in 2021 due to covid-19 restrictions. Mr. Sevcik and Ms. Olson are working on together. Zone 2 Front door, front garden, concrete pathways, patio, flag ■ Mr. Femrite working with Mr. Lore on turnaround bathroom door lock, entry way wall Rain garden, book drop turnaround, employee parking lot; piece that has fallen. ■ No issues Zone 3 being a good neighbor ■ Mr. Femrite working on capping brick Zone 4 Being a good neighbor, grass & rock areas wall by garbage's. No drainage issues anymore on back side of building and through door. Zone 5 Rain garden, interior and exterior building maintenance, All lights were updated with LED lighting interior furniture, and shelving per Mr. Femrite. Ms. Schake will put in maintenance request on bug light that is out, upholstery cleaning of bench in teen area CIP ITEMS IN PROCESS PRIORITY CIP ITEMS 1. Ten mesh back computer chairs. Five for the public and five for staff area. 2. Replace or re -upholster the chairs by the fireplace. 3. Replace the rug in the fiction area. 4. Move one of the upholstered chairs in the children's area into the board book area and consider purchasing another or reupholstering. 5. Cork floor in teen area may eventually need to be replaced but not a hazard now. Will be a building maintenance issue for the Public Work s Director in the future. 6. Shelving to be replaced if needed if it can't be braced CIP ITEMS IDENTIFIED BUT NOT RANKED FOR PRIORITY
