Adopt, by motion, resolutions acknowledging the monetary contribution of $57,500 from the Carlson Family
Lightshield Foundation and a resolution acknowledging the monetary contribution of $2,500 from the
Zimmerman Fire Relief Association.
Background/Discussion
Chris Carlson was generous to assist in the acquisition of a dock for Rivers Edge Commons Park by a
contribution through the Carlson Family Lightshield Foundation.
Members of the Zimmerman Fire Relief Association requested their donation be used for Parks and Recreation
equipment.

A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Elk River Acknowledging
Contributions
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS the City of Elk River received a $57,500 donation from the Carlson Family
Lightshield Foundation with the intent it be used by Parks and Recreation for the purpose of
the downtown dock project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council, by at least four-fifths
vote, to acknowledge the support and commend the Carlson Family Lightshield Foundation
for their donation.
The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Councilmember
___________ and duly seconded by Councilmember ______________, and upon vote
being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:

, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and
adopted.
