Action Requested
Approve, by motion, the hiring of Kyle Murphy for the position of park maintenance worker effective December
7, 2021.
Background/Discussion
With the recent resignation of one of our park maintenance workers, we went to market to fill this position. We
received 89 applications and offered interviews to seven candidates. Following background check and reference
calls we recommend Kyle Murphy for this position.
Mr. Murphy has been working in turf and athletic field maintenance and at golf courses since 2014. He spent two
years with St. Cloud Parks and Recreation, one season at TPC Twin Cities, and most recently at Edinburgh in
Brooklyn Park. He holds a bachelor’s degree in sports management and a pesticide applicator license.
This is a IUOE Local No. 49 position, and all pay and benefits will be consistent with union contract and city
policy.

This is a budgeted position.
