2022 General Manager Search
ACTION REQUESTED:
Approve Baker Tilly as the consultant for the general manager search and placement process.
DISCUSSION:
With the upcoming retirement of the general manager, the search process will ideally begin in
early 2022. Proposals were collected from three search firm consultants for budget
considerations. The consultant will work with the committee to gather information on needs
for the position, advertise and solicit candidate applications, screen candidates, prepare a final
list of candidates to be interviewed by the full commission, and assist with candidate selection
and offer.
The search committee screened the proposals and met on November 29 to discuss them. The
three proposals were from Baker Tilly; David Drown Associates Human Resources, Inc; and
GovHR USA. All three proposals came in slightly under the $25,000 that has been included in
the 2022 budget. Key evaluation considerations were history of the firm, recruitment timeline
and process, fees and assurance, and recent/notable clients and assignments. The committee
recommends the commission approve Baker Tilly as the consultant to help coordinate the
general manager search and placement process.
