DISCUSSION:
• The American Public Power Association (APPA) Legislative Rally in Washington, D.C. is
scheduled for February 28— March 2, 2022. The Minnesota Municipal Utilities
Association (MMUA) Legislative Conference is scheduled for February 8—9, 2022 at the
DoubleTree Hotel in St. Paul, MN. Currently, these events are scheduled to be in person
with the capitol open to visitors (both organizations continue to monitor this and will
alert the membership if this changes). We have budgeted for two staff and one
commissioner to attend each event. As reservations and travel plans need to be made
soon to secure lodging and airfare, we need to determine which commissioner will be
attending so these plans can be finalized. A commissioner representative in Washington
and St. Paul is a very valued presence so please consider attending and let me know

• We received about 50 applications for the customer service manager position that
closed on November 26, of which 21 were qualified. HR is further reviewing them to
determine a pool of interviewees and will be meeting with staff on December 14 to
select final interview candidates.
• MMUA's Technical & Operations Conference was scheduled for December 7-9 in St.
Cloud but has been postponed out of an abundance of caution with an MMUA staff
member testing positive for COVID. MMUA anticipates an early 2022 rescheduling date,
and I will be attending with several of the field managers.
