DISCUSSION:
• The IT/OT Technician and I both attended Minnesota Rural Electric Association's IT
Users Group, which was held virtually this year. There were sessions on outage tracking,
broadband installations, and roundtable discussions. There was a lot of good
information presented, and good discussion with cooperatives throughout the state. It is
very comforting to hear other utilities are implementing cybersecurity solutions that
City IT has had implemented for years.
• I have been assisting the technical services department with a couple metering
upgrades and substation projects. We still have a couple projects we would like to get
done before the end of the year and are hoping the weather cooperates.
• The IT/OT technician is working to help with some National Information Solutions
Cooperative troubleshooting, and we have had a couple phone issues at some of our
remote sites. This has led to discussions around planning for future phone systems, and
evaluation of phone vendors.
