Action Requested
Approve, by motion, the hiring of Daniel Zych to the position of park maintenance worker effective December
29, 2021.
Background/Discussion
Due to the pool of excellent candidates when we went to market to fill a vacant park maintenance position,
Council gave approval to fill the newly budgeted 2022 position now rather than wait until spring. We have hired
two employees from this pool to fill vacant positions and are recommending Daniel Zych to fill this new position.
Mr. Zych holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental and earth science and has worked in seasonal and internship
positions in the field for five years. Most recently he has worked as a fabricator in his fulltime employment.
This is an IUOE Local No. 49 position. All pay and benefits will be consistent with union contract and city policy.
Financial Impact
This position is budgeted for 2022.
