SUBJECT: Authorization to Obtain Bids for Addition of Fire Station #1
TIle Elk River Fire and ~f\Jnbulance Serv'ice is proposing to add approximately 4300 square feet to
Fire Station #1 located at 415 Jackson i\v~enue. .L\mbulance Coordinator Steve Dittbenner Ilas
updated the :~'ilayor and City Council \~vitll information referencing the proposed addition. TIle Elk
Ri,Ter Fire Deparnnent membersIllP voted to mo,Te fOl\,vard \vidl the proposed addition and
application has been completed \vidl the City of Elk Ri,Ter Planning Department for placement on
dle September 27 Planning Commission agenda.
TIle addition ,\Till entail a large apparatus area for tlle 1:\vo Elk River ambulances and also space for
offices, lnecl1amcal storage, bad1.tooms, and a day r001TI. TIle Elk Ri,Ter Fire and Ambulance Service

Action Requested
I am requesting Council autllorization to ad'iertise for bids for tlle Fire Station #1 addition located
at 415 Jackson .t\ ,renue. TIle adv'ertisement for bids \vill be in tlle Elk Ri,Ter Star N e\vs on September
14,21, and 28,2005. Tile bids \vill be opened at Elk Ri'7er City Hall on October 6,2005 at 2 p.m.
Bids \vill be re'Tie\ved by city staff, .L\lnbulance Coordinator Ste\Te Dittbenner, and Dan Pellinen of
Tusllie IvIontgomery .L~rcllltects. I \vill be in attendance at tlle September 6, 2005, City Council
