DEMANDALLELECTRICSERVICERATE Available:WithinElkRiverMunicipalUtilities(ERMU)establishedserviceterritory. Applicable:Availablefornonresidentialcustomeraccounts.ExistingornewCustomeraccountswith electricenergyasasolesourceofheating,andwithactualorprojecteddemandgreaterthanorequalto 50kW.ACustomeraccountwithabillingdemandoflessthan50kWfor12consecutivemonthswillbe giventheoptionofswitchingtotheNonDemandrate.TheCustomeraccountsshallbeincompliance withallpolicies,procedures,andsafetyrequirements,andshallbetakenthroughonemeter.(Not applicabletoresale,standbyorauxiliaryservice.)ACustomeronthisratemayqualifyforintegrity testing. CharacterOfService:AC,60cycles,120voltsor120/240volts,singlephase;120/208volts,or277/480 volts,threephase.Fourwire,240voltsthreephasewillonlybeapplicabletoexistingcustomersnow beingservedbythisvoltage.Acustomerrequiringvoltagesotherthanthatalreadyestablishedshallbe requiredtoprovidesuitablespaceandlocationfor9wa ƭtransformers,meteringandassociated equipment. ButinnomonthshallthebillingdemandbegreaterthanthevalueinkWdeterminedbydividingthe kWhsalesforthebillingmonthby75hourspermonth.Thisbillingadjustmentappliesonlyifthe ĭǒƭƷƚƒĻƩƭpeakdemandDOESNOToccurbetweenthehoursof3:00p.m.and10:00p.m. FluctuatingLoads:Customersoperatingequipmenthavingahighlyfluctuatingorlargeinstantaneous demand,suchasweldersandXraymachines,shallberequiredtopayallnonbettermentcostsof isolatingtheloadfromthebalanceof9wa ƭsystemsothattheloadwillnotundulyinterferewith serviceonERMU'slines.Inaddition,Customerswhofailtoprovideadequatecorrectiveequipmentshall berequiredtoownandmaintaintheirowntransformers.Nomotorlargerthanten(10)HP(or7.355 kW)willbeallowedtobeacrossthelinestartedwithoutnotificationandwrittenauthorizationfrom ERMU. PowerFactorAdjustment:Forloadsof50kWormore,orattheoptionofERMUforloadsoflessthan 50kW,powerfactoradjustmentsmaybemadeinthebillingdemand,whenthepowerfactor,as determinedbytest,atthetimeofthe/ǒƭƷƚƒĻƩƭmaximumuseislessthan98%.Ifthepowerfactor,as measuredby9wa ƭelectricdepartment,islowerthan98%,themonthlydemandchargemaybe dbythemeasuredpowerfactor,orat9wa ƭoption,thepower multipliedbytheratio98%divide factormaybecorrectedatthe/ǒƭƷƚƒĻƩƭexpense.
