DEMANDELECTRICSERVICERATE Available:WithinElkRiverMunicipalUtilities(ERMU)establishedserviceterritory. Applicable:Availablefornonresidentialcustomeraccounts.ExistingornewCustomeraccountswith actualorprojecteddemandgreaterthanorequalto50kW.ACustomeraccountwithabillingdemand oflessthan50kWfor12consecutivemonthswillbegiventheoptionofswitchingtotheNonDemand rate.TheCustomeraccountsshallbeincompliancewithallpolicies,procedures,andsafety requirements,andshallbetakenthroughonemeter.(Notapplicabletoresale,standbyorauxiliary service.)ACustomeronthisratemayqualifyforintegritytesting. CharacterOfService:AC,60cycles,120voltsor120/240volts,singlephase;120/208volts,or277/480 volts,threephase.Fourwire,240voltsthreephasewillonlybeapplicabletoexistingcustomersnow beingservedbythisvoltage.Acustomerrequiringvoltagesotherthanthatalreadyestablishedshallbe requiredtoprovidesuitablespaceandlocationfor9wa ƭtransformers,meteringandassociated equipment. SpecialConditions:Onemetershallbeinstalledtoserviceoneclassofbusiness.Ifadditionalbuildings arerequiredforagivenbusiness,theyshallbeinterconnectedbythecustomertoobtainonemeter, unlessanexceptionisapprovedbymanagement.Ifadditionalmetersandservicesarerequestedbythe customer,eachshallbetreatedasaseparatecustomerandbilledindividually. ButinnomonthshallthebillingdemandbegreaterthanthevalueinkWdeterminedbydividingthe kWhsalesforthebillingmonthby75hourspermonth.Thisbillingadjustmentappliesonlyifthe ĭǒƭƷƚƒĻƩƭpeakdemandDOESNOToccurbetweenthehoursof3:00p.m.and10:00p.m. FluctuatingLoads:Customersoperatingequipmenthavingahighlyfluctuatingorlargeinstantaneous demand,suchasweldersandXraymachines,shallberequiredtopayallnonbettermentcostsof isolatingtheloadfromthebalanceofElkRiverMunicipal ƷźƌźƷźĻƭsystemsothattheloadwillnot undulyinterferewithserviceonElkRiverMunicipal ƷźƌźƷźĻƭlines.Inaddition,Customerswhofailto provideadequatecorrectiveequipmentshallberequiredtoownandmaintaintheirowntransformers. Nomotorlargerthanten(10)HP(or7.355kW)willbeallowedtobeacrossthelinestartedwithout notificationandwrittenauthorizationfromERMU. PowerFactorAdjustment:Forloadsof50kWormore,orattheoptionofERMUforloadsoflessthan 50kW,powerfactoradjustmentsmaybemadeinthebillingdemand,whenthepowerfactor,as determinedbytest,atthetimeofthe/ǒƭƷƚƒĻƩƭmaximumuseislessthan98%.Ifthepowerfactor,as measuredby9wa ƭelectricdepartment,islowerthan98%,themonthlydemandchargemaybe multipliedbytheratio98%dividedbythemeasuredpowerfactor,orat9wa ƭoption,thepower factormaybecorrectedatthe/ǒƭƷƚƒĻƩƭexpense.
