Applicable:Availablefornonresidentialcustomeraccounts.ExistingornewCustomeraccountswith actualorprojecteddemandgreaterthanorequalto50kW.ACustomeraccountwithabillingdemand oflessthan50kWfor12consecutivemonthswillbegiventheoptionofswitchingtotheNonDemand rate.TheCustomeraccountsshallbeincompliancewithallpolicies,procedures,andsafety requirements,andshallbetakenthroughonemeter.(Notapplicabletoresale,standbyorauxiliary service.) CharacterOfService:AC,60cycles,120voltsor120/240volts,singlephase;120/208volts,or277/480 volts,threephase.Fourwire,240voltsthreephasewillonlybeapplicabletoexistingcustomersnow beingservedbythisvoltage.Acustomerrequiringvoltagesotherthanthatalreadyestablishedshallbe requiredtoprovidesuitablespacelocationof9wa ƭtransformers,meteringandassociated equipment. ButinnomonthshallthebillingdemandbegreaterthanthevalueinkWdeterminedbydividingthe kWhsalesforthebillingmonthby75hourspermonth.Thisbillingadjustmentappliesonlyifthe ĭǒƭƷƚƒĻƩƭpeakdemandDOESNOToccurbetweenthehoursof3:00p.m.and10:00p.m. FluctuatingLoads:Customersoperatingequipmenthavingahighlyfluctuatingorlargeinstantaneous demand,suchasweldersandXraymachines,shallberequiredtopayallnonbettermentcostsof isolatingtheloadfromthebalanceof9wa ƭsystemsothattheloadwillnotundulyinterferewith serviceon9wa ƭlines.Nomotorlargerthanten(10)HP(or7.355kW)willbeallowedtobeacross thelinestartedwithoutnotificationandwrittenauthorizationfromERMU. Inaddition,Customerswhofailtoprovideadequatecorrectiveequipmentshallberequiredtoownand maintaintheirowntransformers. PowerFactorAdjustment:Forloadsof50kWormore,orattheoptionofERMUforloadsoflessthan rfactoradjustmentswillbemadeinthebillingdemand,whenthepowerfactor,as 50kW,powe determinedbytest,atthetimeofthe/ǒƭƷƚƒĻƩƭmaximumuseislessthan98%.Ifthepowerfactor,as measuredby9wa ƭelectricdepartment,islowerthan98%,themonthlydemandchargemaybe multipliedbytheratio98%dividedbythemeasuredpowerfactor,orat9wa ƭoption,thepower factormaybecorrectedatthe/ǒƭƷƚƒĻƩƭexpense.
