DISCUSSION:
As part of our on-going marketing efforts to promote renewable energy and increase
participation in the Residential Clean Energy Choice Program, a promotional flyer will be
going out withtheJanuary billings, along with information on AutomaticBill Payment.
December and January social media posts will feature a variety of topics including: the
th
promotionofEnergy City’s 25 Anniversary and their surveys designed to help shape
future initiatives, being prepared for a winter storm, ERMU’s annual scholarship
program, and a DIY video on preventing frozen pipes. Staff will also be posting several
public service announcements such as dates of upcoming commission meetings and
holiday businessclosures.
This month’s featured social media post – SCAM ALERT! With utility scam calls on the
rise,ERMU is helping to educate customers on how to spot and avoid utility billing
scams. A short video, along with tips on how customers can protect themselves from
being scammed, are just a few of theways we are workingto get the word out. In
addition, we have the option to activate the alert bar on our website when we learn
members in our community are being targeted.
The Communications Coordinator, Billing Specialist, and Conservation & Key Accounts
Manager met on December 29 to discuss the 2022 marketing plan for bill inserts. Based
on the conversation a tentative schedule has been established.
The Administration and Communications department has been busy making annual
updates to the ERMU website. Some of the 2022 updates include: residential and
commercial rebate applications, schedule of rates, fee schedule, garbage recycling
calendars, newcustomer welcome packets, and rate changes for city services.
