A RESOLUTION OF
THE CITY OF ELK RIVER MUNICIPAL UTILITIES COMMISSION
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CENTRAL MINNESOTA MUNICIPAL
POWER AGENCY BROOKINGS-TWIN CITIES
PROJECT DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River Municipal Utilities Commission (ERMU)has
determined that it is in the best interest of the ERMU and its rate payers to utilize
the resources and services of the Central Minnesota Municipal Power Agency
(CMMI'A) to participate in the development and investment in the acquisition,
construction,ownership,and operation of high voltage transmission of electrical
energy and capacity,negotiation of contracts,planning,including transmission
needs studies, transmission arrangements,engineering, and technical assistance;
and
WHEREAS, the ERMU now wishes to formalize its relationship with CMMPA and
authorize the ERMU's participation in the Brookings-Twin Cities High Voltage
Transmission Line Project (Project).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1)• That ERMU does hereby approve the participation in the Project and the
fananetng thereof.
2) The CMMPA Brookings-Twit Cities Project Development Agreement is
therefore approved generally in the form presented at this meeting.
3) The ERMU Chair and General Manager are hereby authorized and directed to
finalize the Project Development Agreement and to execute such Project
Development Agreement for and on behalf of the ERMU.
Passed and adopted by the Elk River Municipal Utilities Commission this 20°'day of
February 2007.
