MINUTES OF THE ELK RIVER PLANNING COMMISSION HELD AT ELK
RIVER CITY HALL, TUESDAY, MAY 15, 1990
Members Present: Chairman Kimball, Commissioners Eberley,
Fuchs, and Johnson
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the
ElK River Planning Commission was called to order at
8:00 p.m. by Chairman Kimball.
The first item of business was discussion of the draft
agenda for the regular commission meeting scheduled for May
22, 1990. The order of business was approved with the
following additions: Update Item (Site Plan Training Class,
Shade Tree Ordinance, Mobile WorKshop, Landscape Ordinance,
Cluster Home Ordinance, Ordinance Updates fleshed out) and
Discussion of Agenda for the June 19 Planning Commission
WorKshop meeting.
Chairman Kimball: the updated 1990 Planning Commission worK
plan will be ready at the May 22 meeting. In June, the
Commission will hold a publ ic hearing on Adult Related
Businesses. The booK, Citizen~s Guide to ZoninQ contains
valuable information on variances on page 116.
The Commissioners discussed general concepts regarding signs
and sign ordinances. Chairman Kimball read excerpts from
the PAS Sign Ordinance booK. Copies of the booK will be
available for commissioners at Commissioner Eberley~s office
by Wednesday, May 16, late afternoon. Commissioners are
urged to avail themselves of the opportunity to study this
booK as it contains information relevant to the ElK River
Sign Ordinance currently under review.
