MINUTES OF THE ELK RIVER PLANNING COMMISSION
WORKSHOP HELD AT CITY HALL
JUNE 19, 1990
Members Present:
Rita Johnson, Mary Eberley and Arlon Fuchs
Discussed definition of Government Facility, to be received from Tim Keane.
1989 budget was $4,000. Amount actually spent is unknown, felt it necessary
to determine future budget. I f camera and VCR are needed should it be an
item in Planning Commission budget. Continue budget discussion at next
workshop.
A goal for this fall would be to inventory all books purchased for Planning
Commission use. These books to be placed in the library for all to use and
checked out only by Commission members.
Mobil workshop should be held in early summer and late fall. The fall tour
to be scheduled in September or October. Mary Eber ley requested a tour of
Elk River Landfill.
Chris Kreger of Conteck Environmental Services was present to answer the
technical questions asked by Commission members.
It was agreed that a meeting with the City Council and Planning Commission
should be scheduled to share ideas on the future of Elk River. This meeting
should not be a part of a regular scheduled meeting but rather a special
meeting only for sharing of ideas.
Commissioner Johnson to call Janelle Szklarski and have a proposed billboard
ordinance ready for the June 26, 1990, Planning Commission meeting.
After the new Commissioners have been approved, a class should be scheduled
to acquaint all Commissioners on the reading of site plans.
The July commission meeting to be video taped only upon insistence of
Chairman Kimball.
