MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER PLANNING COMMISSION
HELD AT THE ELK RIVER CITY HALL CONFERENCE ROOM
TUESDAY, AUGUST 21, 1990
Members Present:
Chair Peter Kimball, Commissioners Bischoff, Eberley and
VanValkenburg
Members Absent:
Commissioners Johnson, Schroeder and Nadeau
The meeting of the Elk River Planning Commission was called to order at 7:00
p.m. by Chairman Kimball.
I. Copies of the 1989 budget were distributed and members were asked to
have additions, deletions and changes in emphasis to the budget
ready to discuss at the meeting on the 28th.
II. The members decided to videotape the August 28th Planning Commission
meeting for individual review. The purpose being for training
purposes.
I II. A definition of Government Facility was not ready for review so
discussion was set aside.
IV. A mobile workshop was discussed and it was decided that it would
occur on the workshop evening in September at 5:30 or 6:00 p.m. We
will finalize details at regular meeting on the 28th.

A site plan training class will be presented by Steve Rohlf at our
workshop meeting in October.
The book Job of the Plannin~ Commissioner will be reviewed and
discussed at the November meeting.
A model weed ordinance was presented to members present from Peter
Kimball. He had received it from County Weed Inspector Sherri
Borgquist. She is asking that we consider at least a minimal weed
ordinance as most of those around us have. She has volunteered to
appear at our workshop and to take part in our mobile workshop in
this regard.
The subject of Hohlen' s trailer court was/brought up in regard to a
possible future site for this park. It was decided that this would
be better discussed at the joint Council/Commission meeting on the
13th of September.
The members present thought that the incinerator at County Market
should be discussed at the joint meeting as well as the subject of
number of and location of apartments. It was decided to finalize
the joint meeting agenda at the regular meeting on 8/28/90.
The meeting of the Elk River Planning Commission adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
