4.0. SR 09-19-2005 r~ Cf/t~~ Reasons to remove barriers at 212th Av Nw. And keep connecting developments open as designed and approved by City of Elk River: This road layout was already approved by the planning commission and city council of Elk River for all residents in immediate areas, not just a select few. This access point has the safety of all residents in mind with respect to emergency vehicles and lor evacuation routes in case of national or local emergencies. The new Windsor Meadows should not have only one entry point to development. We all pay property taxes and therefore should be treated equally under all considerations including road usage. We all pay for the roads. By limiting the new Windsor Meadows to one exit point,it would force ALL traffic to west side exit instead of a natural balance of choice and traffic flow. Eliminating 212th exit will force ALL traffic, including school buses in Windsor Meadows and Windsor Park 3rd addition onto Cty Rd 33 where there has been 2 traffic accident fatalities in past 12 months . The city must treat both entrance points equally. Closing 212th,it would force Traffic from over 120 homes through one access point, and 0 traffic thru Windsor park first addition,. either open them both or close them both. The problem is they had zero traffic before the new addition and now that the neighborhoods are conneceted, are getting SOME traffic,we have always been getting some traffic and will be getting ALL traffic ifbarriers remain. We voted the council in to represent our interests . We have a petition with the signatures of the residents asking to remove the barriers.
