If Council likes pYogram, select market date for Council attendance. Background Over the last few yTears, Council created a recognition program for cittT volunteers. Due to the pandemic, thank �Tou letters were sent `vith $5 in Chamber bucks. The Chamber program will be changing this yTear and I believe Council's inteYest is in a moYe peYsonal contact type of pYogram. Administrative and faYmeY's maYket staff discussed the follo`ving option. Staff could send a letteY to volunteeYs that includes a voucheY. The volunteeY would come to the maYket on a specific date where theyT would turn in their voucher for a$5 token, along with a personal thank yTou from Council and staf£ The token could be used on anyT booth at the market Staff can also work with the kettle corn vendor to have small bags of popcorn prepared ahead of time at a cost of about $1 per bag. A sticker could be designed for the bags thanking the volunteers for their service. Other design elements �vould be created thanking the volunteers at the Council table. July 21 oY August 18 would be the best dates to cooYdinate this event with the maYket The maYket is open 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. A schedule could also be determined in shifts for Councilmembers. There `vouldn't be as manyT volunteers this year as we'd only be recognizing them from JanuaryT to July. If the program continued, next year we'd recognize volunteers from July 2022 to July 2023. Financial Impact The budget for this program is $1,500. Expenses this yTear `vould be under $500. Staff `vould establish a tracking progYam, then transfeY funds fYom Council budget to the FaYmeY's MaYket budget to coveY the cost of the tokens. Mission/Policy/Goal Support cityT vision and goals.
