..:'\.5 most of you are a\vare, \,,-ith the recent numerous rainfall events bet\veen Labor Day \veekend and
present, dle City has had a number of drainage issues brought to our attention. Phil Hals, :Lvlark
Thompson, and I have been responding to most of these calls from citizens regarding drainage
concerns. Ivlost of the ongoing concerns caused by the recent rainfalls are in an area of the City
\vhere storm se\ver systems have no outlets. TIus area is generally east of TH 169 and north of Elk
Hills Drive. 111ere is also one ongoing problem in the HigWand Road/Salk Ivliddle School area
\vhich also has no outlet.
.i\t IvIonday evening's meeting, Phil Hals and I \vill be prepared to make a presentation to the City
Council quantifying the areas that \ve have seen or heard from residents. \\7e \\ill discuss \\1.th the
City Council some of the actions \ve have taken to mitigate the problems \vhere possible, and, \ve \vill
discuss \vith tl1e City Council staff concepts about potential long-term solutions by constructing
emergency overflo\vs and/ or connections bet\veen ponding areas, ultimately trying to find an outlet
for these areas.

have been informed that this \vill be a Council agenda item at ivfonday evening's meeting. I \vould
anticipate a number of residents from various areas in attendance. I have indicated to them tl1at
although it is not a public hearing, I felt the lvfayor and City Council \vould allO\V some time for
residents to speak to the Council on these drainage issues.
